To celebrate International Day of Education on 24 January, Row for an Education (ROWE) organises a charity rowathon every year to raise funds to provide academic and sporting training to children at risk of exclusion.
This is a virtual event in which participants from all over the world can register, regardless of their rowing experience.
From 8 to 14 February 2025, participants will row freely at their club or sports facilities, or on their own ergometers and submit their results online.
Rowers may row as many times as they wish throughout the week, on the water and on an ergometer, to row the greatest distance possible.
The results will be accumulated throughout the week and the winners will be those who have rowed the most metres.
Anyone of any age, gender and condition who rows on the water or on an indoor rowing machine may sign up for the rowathon.
The money raised will be used to fund academic and sports scholarships for children from low-income families
